Homeschool Track and Field Interest Meeting
Have a homeschooled kid or two interested in participating in the track and field season? Stop by the Wildlife West Nature Park on Feb. 27 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. to learn all about the 2024 homeschool track and field season. Children from the ages of 3 to 11 are qualified to participate in the season. Homeschool children ages 12-18 and parents are encouraged to help as coaches, assistant coaches and volunteers. This is a free meeting and all East Mountain towns are welcomed.
Estancia Special Events Committee Needs You!
Have you ever thought of an event that would be perfect for the Estancia community? Well, now it’s your time to bring those ideas to life. The Estancia Special Events Committee needs your help! They are hosting a meeting on Mar. 4 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. for folks to stop by and help create some memorable events for the Estancia and surrounding areas. The meeting was opened to the public and will be held at the Estancia Town Hall. If you have any questions about the meeting please call 505-384-9655.
Billboard Design Contest
The Town of Mountainair is currently looking to add billboards to the town that will welcome all visitors and you can submit a design for the billboard. The billboard is planned to be located at the SW Corner of Highways 55 & 60 and is hoped to be completed by June 15, 2024. The selected design will win $500. To apply you will need to email your design to mayor@mountainairnm.gov by Mar. 11. Some guidelines for the design contest entries are as followed include three texts elements including “welcome to,” “Mountainair,” and “Keep NM Beautiful”, PNG and JPG formats are acceptable for submissions, the more color the better, and no water marks. Call to Artists
The Manzano Mountain Art Council (MMAC) is now accepting submissions for their next exhibit in their gallery. The next exhibit has been titled, “Inspired by the Land”. The MMAC is looking for art pieces with Earthen materials, dioramas, landscapes, and works that speak of human connection to the land in any medium. The deadline to apply is Mar. 27 and the exhibit will be from March to July. To apply you can find the application on manzanomountainartcouncil.org.
