February Speaker Series

The Manzano Mountain Art Council (MMAC) will be hosting three speakers this month for their February Speaker Series. The three speakers will be talking about topics in their expertise throughout the month of February. On Feb. 10, Alex Arnold will be talking about diversity in the heart of New Mexico. On Feb. 17. Tiffanie Owen will be speaking about the real story of Billy The Kid. Lastly, on Feb. 24, Dixie Boyle will be speaking about the history of cowboy art and Joe J. Brazil. Each speaker series is free to see. All speakers will be hosted at the Manzano Mountain Art Council Center and will all start at 2 p.m. For more information on these events please email mmacevents@gmail.com

Journeys Through History: New Mexico Historical Markers

Stop by the East Mountains Historical Society on Feb. 25 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. to hear a presentation by Phil and Rosanne Archuletta about the New Mexico Historical Markers. The talk will include the history of the state’s Historical Mark Project along with stories about the people and places that are located in the East Mountains. They will also be sharing from their three books New Mexico Historic Marker Roadmaps – Inspiring Stories of Men, Women and Places, and Women Marked for History. 

NM Renaissance Celtic Festival Hiring

The New Mexico Renaissance Celtic Festival is looking for several people who can manage a small job at the festival. They are looking for all sorts of folks whether you have management skills, decorating skills, hard working, ability to follow a plan, keep a schedule, and assist management then there may be a position for you. In your email include a resume, if you have transportation, if you are over the age of 18, a picture of you in your garb or costume, languages you speak and phone number. The festival is from April 4-8 so you must be available during those days.
