A winter weather storm blasted parts of New Mexico last week. Areas including the  Albuquerque metro area caught a break from the snow, while Las Vegas got pummeled with 20 to 30 inches in some areas.

The East Mountains and Torrance County were also hit hard by the winter storm.

According to the National Weather Service, between Nov. 7 and Nov. 8, the two areas received the following amounts of snowfall.

Cedar Crest: 13 – 15 inches

Edgewood: 10.5 – 15 inches

Sandia Park: 9.9 – 16.3 inches

Estancia: 14.5 – 28 inches

Manzano: 13 inches

Moriarty: 14 inches

Mountainair: 14 – 21 inches

The weather also caused problems with traffic. Heavy vehicle congestion on I-40 had traffic at a stand still near Moriarty Nov. 8. The New Mexico Department of Transportation said trucks were parked on the side of the road and at truck stops overnight. Some reports said drivers waited over two hours from Santa Rosa to Moriarty. Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham issued two statewide emergency declarations, unlocking $1.5 million to help state agencies dig out.
