Legacy Ranch Shooting Range had its Grand Reopening Nov. 16 at its Edgewood location after rescheduling due to 18 inches of snow from the recent blizzard.

The event attracted not only old customers but also new, curious clientele.

“We had a lot of new faces and a lot of interest. It was a really great response from the community,” said Parker Tomasi, the range’s owner and managing partner. “It was a really good range of people who were there in the local area, out in Edgewood or Moriarty … kind of more the blue-collar side of just people who work farms. You know, grew up hunting and fishing and that kind of stuff.”

Legacy Ranch offers more than a shooting range; it is not limited to traditional rifle and pistol shooting. As Tomasi explained: “We have pretty much everything inside the spectrum for sportsmen.”

The ranch offers various archery options, including a 3D course and a practice bay. It also has 17 private beams and shotgun courses. Besides the shooting, the establishment also offers an event center for events with a PA system, stage and lighting that could accommodate around 300 people. Events can range from weddings to classroom spaces and VIP lounges for different events.

Legacy Ranch also offers training sessions with qualified firearm instructors with Marine Corps training. Although the establishment has one primary instructor focused on concealed carry classes, it plans to expand its selection of classes.

“We have guys who were instructors who were former Tier 1 special operators in the military with that background, to police officers. We have one instructor who was an APD police officer for more than 20 years, and he was heavily involved in designing the APD SWAT training program,” Tomasi said.

The event had endured three extensive marketing months, and they made sure to adapt to the rescheduling by assuring the safety of the premises and having extra time to gather items for a silent auction and raffle.

Legacy Ranch encourages everyone to come and join them for future events regardless of lack of experience or for anyone curious enough to try it out.

“We understand that everybody’s got to start somewhere, and you know, you’re not going to be good the first time you pick up a firearm, just like you try and start drawing the first time … It takes practice, it takes knowledge, takes experience, and we’re here to facilitate that and help these people along that journey,” Tomasi said. “We’re here to help build up our community and just facilitate a fun experience for people.”
